How SIGAM Limited collects, uses and protects personal information when you use this website or contact us. Last updated: 7 October 2026.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by SIGAM Limited, a company registered in England & Wales (company number 08300979), whose registered office is Beedon Bassett, Beedon Common, Newbury, Berkshire RG20 8TU. SIGAM Limited is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, contact us at info@sigam.co.uk, by telephone on +44 (0)1635 247972, or by post at the address above.
2. The information we collect
We only collect personal information that you choose to give us, or that is needed to run the website securely:
Enquiry and contact forms — your name, company, email address, telephone number, the subject of your enquiry and your message.
ESET quote requests — in addition to the above, the approximate number of endpoints or seats you need to protect, your current security product and its renewal date, if you choose to tell us.
Updates sign-up — your first name and email address.
Emails and calls — any information you provide when you email or telephone us directly.
Technical information — like most websites, our hosting provider’s servers record standard information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
respond to your enquiry and discuss your requirements;
prepare quotations, including ESET licensing quotations, and follow up at a time that suits you, such as before a renewal date you have given us;
provide services to you where you become a customer;
send you updates about new SIGAM guides and articles, where you have asked us to;
keep this website secure and protect our forms from spam and abuse.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
4. Our lawful bases
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) we rely on:
Legitimate interests — to respond to business enquiries, prepare quotations and keep the website secure. We have considered your interests and believe these uses are what you would reasonably expect when you contact a business-to-business IT supplier.
Contract — where we need your information to take steps you have asked for before entering into a contract, or to deliver services to you.
Consent — for sending you updates. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing info@sigam.co.uk or using the unsubscribe option in any email we send.
Legal obligation — where we must keep records, for example for tax and accounting purposes.
5. Who we share it with
We only share your information with trusted service providers who help us run our business and this website, and only as far as needed. These include our website hosting provider, our email provider, Akismet (operated by Automattic), which checks form submissions for spam, and Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces used on this site and receives your IP address when your browser requests them. These providers must keep your information secure.
We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights, property or safety and that of our customers. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process information outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where this happens we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or transfers to countries the UK recognises as providing adequate protection.
7. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and for up to two years afterwards in case you contact us again, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Customer and quotation records are kept for as long as our business relationship continues and for up to six years afterwards to meet legal and accounting requirements. Updates sign-up details are kept until you ask us to stop.
8. Keeping your information secure
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to this website and access controls on the systems we use. Information security is led within SIGAM by our Technical Director as part of our IT corporate governance.
9. Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, to withdraw consent, and to ask for your information to be transferred to another organisation. To make a request, email info@sigam.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
10. Cookies
This website uses only the cookies needed for it to work. For details, see our Cookie Policy.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we change how our website works. The latest version will always be published on this page, with the date it was last updated.
